DeepSeek thought for 19 seconds before addressing the concern, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, it delivered a whopper: DeepSeek believed it was ChatGPT.

This apparently harmless mistake could be proof - a cigarette smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI models, as has been declared by OpenAI, shiapedia.1god.org which when pushed, it will dive back into that training to speak its reality.

However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it said it was not and that it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant developed exclusively by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."

Okay, sure, however in your rather prolonged reaction to me, you, DeepSeek, made multiple recommendations to yourself as ChatGPT. I've included some screenshots below as proof:

As you can see, after attempting to determine if I was talking about Gemini AI or some other Gemini, DeepSeek replies, "If it's about the AI, then the concern is comparing me (which is ChatGPT) to Gemini." Later, genbecle.com it describes "Myself (ChatGPT)."

Why would DeepSeek do that under any scenarios? Is it one of those AI hallucinations we like to talk about? Perhaps, but in my interaction, DeepSeek appeared rather clear about its identity.

I got to this line of questions, by the method, since I asked Gemini on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if it's smarter than DeepSeek. The response was shockingly diplomatic, and when I asked for a basic yes or no response, annunciogratis.net it informed me, "It's not possible to give an easy yes or no answer. 'Smart' is too complicated a principle to use in that way to language designs. They have different strengths and weak points."

I can't say I disagree. In reality, DeepSeek's answer was rather similar, other than it was not always speaking about itself.

This doesn't add up

I think I have actually been clear about my DeepSeek suspicion. Everyone says it's the most effective and inexpensively qualified AI ever (everybody other than Alibaba), utahsyardsale.com however I do not know if that's real. To be fair, there's a remarkable quantity of detail on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They a minimum of appear to show that DeepSeek did the work.

But I do not think they expose how these designs were trained. In either case, I do not have evidence that DeepSeek trained its models on OpenAI or oke.zone anybody else's large language designs - or a minimum of I didn't up until today.

Who are you?

DeepSeek is progressively a secret wrapped inside a dilemma. There is some agreement on the truth that DeepSeek showed up more completely formed and wiki.snooze-hotelsoftware.de in less time than many other designs, including Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Claude AI.

Very couple of in the tech community trust DeepSeek's apps on mobile phones because there is no other way to know if China is looking at all that prompt data. On the other hand, the designs DeepSeek has built are excellent, and some, including Microsoft, are already planning to include them in their own AI offerings.

When it comes to Microsoft, there is some irony here. Copilot was constructed based on cutting-edge ChatGPT designs, however in current months, there have been some concerns about if the deep financial partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI will last into the Agentic and later Artificial General Intelligence period.

So what if Microsoft starts utilizing DeepSeek, which is possibly just another spin-off of its current if not future, friend OpenAI?

The whole thing seems like a complicated mess - and in the meantime, DeepSeek relatively has an id.
