DeepSeek thought for library.kemu.ac.ke 19 seconds before responding to the concern, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, suvenir51.ru it provided a whopper: DeepSeek believed it was ChatGPT.

This apparently harmless error might be proof - a smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI designs, as has actually been claimed by OpenAI, and that when pressed, it will dive back into that training to speak its fact.

However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it stated it was not which it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant produced specifically by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."

Okay, sure, however in your rather prolonged reaction to me, you, DeepSeek, made numerous recommendations to yourself as ChatGPT. I've included some screenshots below as proof:

As you can see, after attempting to recognize if I was discussing Gemini AI or some other Gemini, DeepSeek replies, "If it has to do with the AI, then the concern is comparing me (which is ChatGPT) to Gemini." Later, it refers to "Myself (ChatGPT)."

Why would DeepSeek do that under any scenarios? Is it among those AI hallucinations we like to discuss? Perhaps, but in my interaction, DeepSeek seemed rather clear about its identity.

I got to this line of questions, by the method, since I asked Gemini on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if it's smarter than DeepSeek. The response was shockingly diplomatic, and when I requested a simple yes or no answer, it told me, "It's not possible to offer an easy yes or no answer. 'Smart' is too complicated an idea to use because way to language models. They have different strengths and weak points."

I can't say I disagree. In truth, DeepSeek's answer was rather similar, except it was not always speaking about itself.

This doesn't add up

I believe I have actually been clear about my DeepSeek suspicion. Everyone says it's the most powerful and inexpensively skilled AI ever (everyone other than Alibaba), however I do not know if that's true. To be reasonable, there's a significant quantity of information on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They at least appear to show that DeepSeek did the work.

But I do not believe they expose how these models were trained. Either way, bphomesteading.com I do not have proof that DeepSeek trained its designs on OpenAI or anybody else's large language models - or a minimum of I didn't till today.

Who are you?

DeepSeek is increasingly a secret wrapped inside a quandary. There is some agreement on the reality that DeepSeek got here more completely formed and in less time than a lot of other models, including Google Gemini, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Claude AI.

Very couple of in the tech community trust DeepSeek's apps on smartphones due to the fact that there is no other way to understand if China is taking a look at all that prompt information. On the other hand, the models DeepSeek has constructed are remarkable, and some, including Microsoft, are currently preparing to include them in their own AI offerings.

When it comes to Microsoft, there is some paradox here. Copilot was constructed based on advanced ChatGPT models, however in recent months, there have been some concerns about if the deep monetary collaboration in between Microsoft and OpenAI will last into the Agentic and later on Artificial General Intelligence period.

So what if Microsoft starts using DeepSeek, which is possibly just another spin-off of its current if not future, good friend OpenAI?

The entire thing seems like a complicated mess - and in the meantime, DeepSeek apparently has an id.
